Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation: Garden Sprites
The illustrations of the Garden Sprite figures for this product were adapted from the original drawings for the sculptures for Frank Lloyd Wright’s Midway Garden in 1913 which later were sent to Wright’s two Taliesin properties. The faces on the sculptures were redrawn to better reflect the current state of the faces of the sprites which have weathered with time to be less angular.
These were printed using a sublimation method on unglazed fired ceramic on both 4.25″ square coasters and 7″ square trivets.
An alternate color palette of the Garden Sprites were created exclusively for the Arizona Biltmore Waldorf Astoria resort, but has not been released yet.
