Miscellaneous Lettering & Typography

August 2016

A smattering of lettering and typography pieces from personal and client projects.

七転び八起き: FALL SEVEN TIMES & STAND UP EIGHT

The Japanese proverb, “七転び八起き,” literally means “fall seven times and stand up eight” and has a few interpretations about resilience.

I created this along with the Right Here Right Now design below, as wall decor items for home and my husband’s office.

This is available to purchase as an art print and on other accessories on Society6.

RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW

A reminder to be mindful. I’ve been a huge fan of the Zen concept of mindfulness and being present as a way to combat stress and keep my thoughts organized. I made this to be a piece of wall art in my own home, but it’s a great little note to self to have in other ways as well.

This is available as an art print and on other surfaces on Society6 in several colors.

NO DAY SHALL ERASE YOU

Type treatment concept from a project for the 9/11 Memorial Museum that ended up going in a different direction.

LET’S GET OUTTA HERE

I returned from a vacation and was ready to go again! A little throwback vibe lettering to get the feelings out of me.

This is available to buy as a print and on other surfaces at Society6.

ONE LUMP OR TWO?

Tea time with a twist because sometimes stock photography inspires something else completely unrelated to the task at hand.

Available as an art print and other surfaces at Society6.

TAKE OFF YOUR SKIN & WEAR YOUR BONES

My friend Tyler was talking about unusual things the kindergartners he works with say and this one stuck out so much I just had to turn it into something.
